Apple released the following updates in the last few days: iPhoto 9.1.2 , iMac Hard Drive Firmware Update 1.0 , Apple FIPS Cryptographic Module v1.0 , MobileMe Control Panel for Windows , Mac OS X v10.6.7 Supplemental Update for 13″ MacBook Air (Late 2010) , Boot Camp 3.2 Update for MacBook Pro (early 2011) and Canon Printer Drivers v2.5 for Mac OS X v10.6.
iPhoto, Apple’s image library application, was updated to iPhoto 9.1.2. The update “adds new card themes to iPhoto ’11. It also improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues.”
These minor issues include:
â€¢ Addresses an issue that prevented the Zoom slider from being accessible in Magnify (1-Up) view
â€¢ Fixes an issue where Toolbars were not auto-hiding in Full Screen view
â€¢ Search field now correctly performs an “includes” search when searching by text string
â€¢ Fixes minor formatting issues with book, card and calendar themes
â€¢ Message Size of emails now correctly updates when changes are made using the Photo Size menu
â€¢ Addresses an issue that prevented some iPhoto 5 libraries from upgrading correctly
â€¢ Multiple book pages can now be drag-selected when in All Pages view
â€¢ Design tools in print project panels are now accessible via separate Layout and Options buttons
â€¢ Photo backgrounds applied to a book are now preserved when book type is changed
â€¢ Tab key can now be used to navigate through all text fields in a book project
iPhoto ’11 is free with every new Mac. You can also get it buy either buying iLife ’11 suite or from the Mac App Store for $14.99.
If you bought the app from the Mac App Store then the update is available in the Updates tab.
If you own an retail version of the app then to install the update click the Apple logo then choose Software Update.
For iMac (2010 model) computers Apple released iMac Hard Drive Firmware Update 1.0. This is a firmware update that fixes a hard drive issue that may prevent some iMac (21.5-inch and 27-inch, Mid 2010) systems from booting properly.
Apple also released Apple FIPS Cryptographic Module v1.0 for “Administrators and Crypto Officers in enterprises that require the use of a FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic module.”
Apple released MobileMe Control Panel for Windows for MobileMe subscribers who use Windows. The update “fixes issues and improves reliability for the new MobileMe Calendar in Outlook.” MobileMe Control Panel is used to manage iDisk settings (data storage) and for syncing of contacts, calendars and bookmarks.
For MacBook Air 13-inch (2010 model) owners Apple released Mac OS X v10.6.7 Supplemental Update for 13″ MacBook Air (Late 2010). The update “addresses an issue that makes the system unresponsive when using iTunes.”
Apple released Boot Camp 3.2 Update for MacBook Pro (early 2011) for MacBook Pro (2011 model, ThunderBolt) users who want to run Windows. The update “addresses issues with shutdown, Japanese and Korean keyboards on early 2011 MacBook Pro.”
And finally, Canon printer drives were updated with Canon Printer Drivers v2.5 for Mac OS X v10.6. As usual, the update “installs the latest software for your printer or scanner.”
To install the update click the Apple logo then choose Software Update.
