iOS 4.3 Beta Released to Developers

Apple has released Xcode 3.2.6 with iOS SDK 4.3 beta and iOS 4.3 beta for iOS devices. It is available for registered iOS developers.

iOS 4.3 might be publicly available March 2011.

iOS 4.3 beta features include:

iPad Arabic keyboard was improved as Arabic-PC keyboard interface was added as noted in these screenshots by @milyani.

Also via Milyani: Arabic-PC keyboard layout was added to the iPhone, replacing the default Arabic keyboard layout.

Personal Hotspot was added, replacing Internet Tethering. Now you can share your iPhone 3G connection with up to 5 devices using Wi-Fi. Since Mobily supports tethering then it should work in Saudi Arabia.

The iPad side switch function was changed in iOS 4.2 to mute from locking rotation. Now in iOS 4.3 Apple added the ability to choose the function of the side switch: lock rotation or mute. [Via MacStories].

More Multi-Touch gestures were added to the iPad. “Multitasking Gestures” allows you to use 4 or 5 gingers to pinch to go Home Screen, swipe up to show the multitasking bar and swipe left/right between apps. To enable it you need to run Xcode and click Use for Development on the iPad. [Via MacStories].

Here’s a video demonstrating multitasking gestures and side switch:

Update: Apple added the following note in iOS 4.3 beta 2:

“This feature will not be enabled in iOS 4.3 for customers, but we are providing this preview to gather input on how these gestures work with your apps.”

AirPlay will support video streaming for most apps. Apple also released a beta version of Apple TV firmware to test this.

iOS 4.3 will be available for the following devices: iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3rd and 4th gen.

Most likely due to performance issues, iPhone 3G and iPod touch second generation will not receive this update.

  1. Hi, I have this problem that i can’t found a solution for it. So i hope you guys have a solution
I have an iPad, it was running on 4.2. So, i was wandering about testing the new iOS 4.3 so i have this developer account “not paid the 99$”. So, i download the iOS 4.3 from the internet and restore my iPad into that new Beta. But i guess Apple detected that I wasn’t a developer. It didn’t allow me to activate my iPad. Now the ipad is stuck on iTunes screen and locked up and i can’t restore it
When I want to restore the iPad by iTunes and plug-in it, I get the following messages:
“We are unable to complete you activation. This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Developer Program. If you are a member of this program, please register your device at the iPhone Developer Program Portal.”
    Please help!

x
