Apple’s latest “MacBook white” released last week was benchmarked by James Galbraith at Macworld magazine.
James discovered that the $999 MacBook white (model number MC240LL/A with Intel P7450) gave better results than the $1,299 aluminum unibody MacBook (model number MB466LL/A with Intel P7350) The 2 CPUs are almost identical except for the speed (2.0GHz vs 2.13GHz) which made the white MacBook a better system for now.
At least until Apple updates the aluminum unibody MacBook. Via TUAW.
So, its fast, affordable and it has FireWire 400! I wouldn’t miss that if was looking for a Mac notebook.
