Orange France Sells Millionth iPhone

Orange France has announced that they have sold one million iPhones since the launch of the first generation iPhone in November 2007. To celebrate this, Orange is offering unlimited viewing via the Roland-Garros iPhone application to all customers with an iPhone plan or option Via iPhone Alley.

iPhone, the best smartphone in 2009

JD Power and Associates (a global marketing information services firm) released the results of their consumer smartphone survey. The results show the iPhone winning 5 of 6 categories, losing only in the battery category. The other 5 categories that the iPhone beat the competition in are: Overall Satisfaction, Physical Design, Ease of Operation, Features and Operating System.

Apple reports $1.21 billion profit for Q2 2009

Apple posted what they call the best non-holiday quarter in history. Reporting revenue of $8.16 billion and profits of $1.21 billion! Apple sold 3.79 million iPhones, 11 million iPods, 2.22 million Macs. “International sales accounted for 46 percent of the quarter’s revenue”. Unfortunately no more details about International sales. One Billion App Store Downloads

After nine months of the release of the iTunes App Store one billion apps has been downloaded. The one billionth app was Bump, a free contact information swapping app. The person who downloaded the billionth app (and won a few prizes from Apple) was a 13-year-old Connor Mulcahey.

Apple’s redesigned iPod shuffle hits 4GB, talks to you

On Wednesday Apple introduced the new iPod shuffle. It is available at 4GB and cost $79 (300SR) and very small (45mm x 17mm x 7.8mm).
