AirPort update fixes slow wireless on some MacBooks

Apple released an update for some MacBook and MacBook Pro models to fix an issue with slow wireless connection on battery power after the Mac OS X 10.5.8 update. Apple has quietly updated their $999 (3,999SR) MacBook “white” today. The hardware was updated with a Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz processor, 160GB hard drive and faster RAM, 2GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM. The previous model that was released in January had 2.0GHz processor with 120GB hard drive and 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

Apple updates the 3999SR MacBook

Apple upgraded the $999 white MacBook. The upgrade includes the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics card, Bluetooth 2.1 (from Bluetooth 2.0), a 1066MHz frontside bus and 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM standard option. The former MacBook white was sold in Saudi Arabia for 3999SR ($1066, very close to the $999 US price).
