iOS 5.0.1 Update Addresses Battery Life Issues
Apple has release iOS 5.0.1 today for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. the update addresses a few issues including battery life issues that appeared with iOS 5.0.
Here are the update notes:
This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:
• Fixes bugs affecting battery life
• Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
• Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
• Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation
The update includes some important security fixes as well.
iOS 5.0.1 is the first update to be delivered over the air (OTA). You can install it directly from your iOS 5 device.

• iPhone 4S
• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3GS
• iPad 2
• iPad
• iPod touch (4th generation)
• iPod touch (3rd generation)

The overall impression based on the world wide fedback is: the update doesn’t improve the situation to any satisfactory level. Apple is still looking into weird battery drainage issues.
