Remotely print on your Mac using Dropbox

Here’s how to use Dropbox with Automator Folder Actions to print documents remotely by simply uploading a file from a remote computer or mobile device.

Anything you drop in the “todo” folder (Ed. note: Which you can do from any phone or computer with Dropbox installed and connected to your home computer) will now automatically open its respective app, print it and file it for you.

  1. Does this feature works with leopard as well ??

  2. This is a great feature. Thanks for sharing Khalid. I want to learn more about Automator. Its shame that although I migrated from PC to MAC in June, 2009, I still haven’t cared to learn the uses of Automator. Any site you can recommend which can help me here.

  3. Thanks Khaled. Is there a work around to print a file from another dropbox folder on my iphone, i.e. if I have some files in my Dropbox TEST folder, how can I copy the file to the printing folder for the printing to be effected. Any suggestion?
