Twitter releases official iPad app
Twitter micro blogging service has released their official client for the Apple iPad. The user interface relies on panes to display messages and it’s content (links, hashtags).
My initial thoughts: No API Keys for Bitly url shortening service. No emoji display support even though you can view profile names with emoji. It opens links without confirmation which can be a serious issue if someone linked a web site exploit.
The user interface is a nice change from the usual iPad twitter clients. However, it needs some slight modifications.
Try this: try to pinch a message to view the sender’s profile (something I saw first in Reeder). Also try to swipe with 2 fingers on a reply to view the conversation.
The official Twitter app is a free Universal Binary app that works on all iOS devices including iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
