Apple has announced that it will provide a live stream their September 1st music event to be held later today. The stream will be provided using a new technology by Apple called “HTTP Live Streaming”. Unfortunately it can only be viewed on Macs running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, or iPhones &iPods running iOS 3.0 or later, or an iPad.
The live stream will begin at exactly 8 PM Mecca Time (Saudi Arabia time) on Apple’s homepage.
Here is Apple’s press release:
Apple® will broadcast its September 1 event online using Apple’s industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac® running Safari® on Mac OS® X version 10.6 Snow Leopard®, an iPhone® or iPod touch® running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad™. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on September 1, 2010 at www.apple.com.

Apple used to provide a live stream of their events a few years ago but they stopped. Live blogging has been popular since then.
If you can’t watch the live stream then you can check any of the sites we have listed for a live blog. (my favorite is gdgt live).
