Cisco licensed iOS trademark to Apple

Hours after Apple announced renaming iPhone OS to iOS Cisco posted on their blog that they have reached an agreement with Apple. Cisco licensed iOS name to Apple. IOS is the name of Cisco’s operating system for their routers.

Cisco licensed the iPhone trademark to Apple in 2007.

Apple also acquired the trademark for “FaceTime” from a security company with the same name. FaceTime is the iPhone 4’s video call service.
