Mobily Micro SIM 3G
Mobily has released their Micro SIM card. The following is an advertisement for it in a local newspaper.
Translation:
Mobily “Micro SIM 3G” has arrived. For the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Technology age has started. Now all customers and for the first time in the Kingdom to get a Micro SIM 3G card to access the Internet in advanced devices such as the Apple iPad and other devices coming soon.
Data bundles: 1GB / 100SR ($26) monthly, 5GB / 200SR ($53) monthly and Unlimited GB / 350SR ($93) monthly.

Hello…i do not know anything about shops or centres in Saudi Arabia where to buy Micro SIM card for ·G services for an IPAD2..
Can anyone give several adress in Ryhad where to buy this SIM-CARD, if possible prepaid, compatible with IPAD 2 32Gb WIFI+3G of APPLE???Do the staff of shop install the SIM – CARD in the IPAD2, or this is an operation to be done by the customer????

Don’t Blame STC & Mobily.
Blame CITC (citc.gov.sa), they approve\reject “ANY” new services or price changing in communication sector in KSA.

iPad will work normally, but if you wanna use 3G you can either
Cut your current SIM card
or get a new micro SIM

I am using mobily 3G microsim. 100 riyal 1GB package. It works fine with good speed. I purchased it in khobar. Using it on my 64GB 3G+Wifi iPad. I can’t imagine using my iPad without microsim.

Brother Adnan, would you please explain how did you configure/set Mobily Micro SIM in your iPad ? I did get the micro sim, but i didn’t work ! I got full covarage signal in my iPad with mobily 3G logo, but no internet connection! I keep getting the message” celleular data error – no internet connectivity” althouhg i called mobily and the confirmed the SIM is activated !
Any help would be appreciated,

Which shop did you buy it from in Khobar. I went to Mobily in Rashid Mall and they said they have never had the micro sim cards in stock.

Asem, Sorry for the Late Reply….. U have to do 2 things….1) Goto settings…and then goto Cellular Data….in Cellular Data page….make sure…”Celluar Data is ON”….. 2) Now select the APN Settings…..and put APN as web2 (for prepard connection) and web1 (for postpaid connection)….

I’m getting an iPhone 4 today (from canada), and I plan to use it back in ksa…. The only problem being the microsim. Will mobily offer the microsim on a prepaid account (I.e. No data) or is it restricted to the above bundles? Will they offer to transfer the contents of your old sim (number, contacts, etc….)? I would ask myself, but I was overseas when this was announced. Thanks in advance.

not sure of the specific details, but you can always cut the card.
