Mobily has announced that they have 1 million mobile broadband (Mobily Connect) subscribers in Saudi Arabia.
“History is about to repeat itself. In the late 1990s and the early 21st century, mobile phone subscriptions overtook fixed line subscriptions” said Mobily CEO, Khalid Omar Al Kaf. “Very soon, that same thing will happen with mobile data. Mobile data and wireless subscriptions will overtake fixed line data subscriptions, in numbers of customers and in revenue.”
Mobily did not announce how many iPhones they have sold in the last 11 months until now. We have attempted to contact Mobily’s Media Relations and we never got any response.

It’s WiMax, not 3G
No, WiMax is “Broadband @ Home”.
Mobily Connect is HSPA (3G).
I’m not sure. I thought they meant WiMax.
Thanks for the clarification
no problem.
Mobily’s press release said nothing about WiMax (Broadband @ home).
WiMax still doesnt have much coverage in KSA for now. So saying 1million customers in WiMax wont happen. And now mobily got HSPA+ but they haven’t started to sell the required modem for that. But if you have one already then you can take advantage of the network. HSPA+ will give “up to” 21mbps download speed.
how much speed we get on mobily 21mbps usb modem?
like right now i am getting around 520kbps download speed on stc 3G 7mb standard huwawi usb modem.
thanks
i can’t search in google from mobily broadband conection.
