Apple has updated the MacBook, Mac mini and iMac earlier today. The products were released one day after the Q4 2009 earnings report.
Apple also released a new multi-touch Magic Mouse, AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule. We will post about the new accessories later. But we will talk about the new Macs for now.
MacBook
The white, $999 (3,999SR) MacBook was updated to include an LED-backlet display and a polycarbonate unibody. Processor was upgraded to 2.26GHz with 2GB of DDR3 ram (upgradable to 4GB), 250GB storage, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.
The MacBook batery is now built into the notebook just like the MacBook Pro, it will cost $129 to replace the battery from Apple. FireWire is missing from the MacBook now. More info in Arabic.
iMac
The all-in-one Mac desktop got a major update, the iMac is now available at 21.5 and 27 inch size. The iMac screen is LED-backlet and includes the wireless Apple keyboard and Magic Mouse.
The new iMac ships with a Core 2 Duo (dual core CPU) or a Core i5/i7 (quad core) processor. 4GB of DDR3 memory and supports up to 16GB. Pricing starts at $1,199. Core 2 Duo model is available now but the Quad core model will be available in November. More info in Arabic.
Mac mini
The Mac mini had a small speed bump today. The processor was upgraded to Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz and 2.53GHz. Prices are the same at $599 and $799.
Apple has added a Snow Leopard Server option which includes 2 500GB hard drives for $999.More info in Arabic.
