Etisalat Launches Prepaid Option for iPhone 3G

Etisalat announced the availability of “prepaid” iPhone 3G plan in the UAE. The iPhone 3G 8GB will cost AED 3,121 and the 16GB model for AED 3,570. Just like Saudi Arabia, it includes free 250MB of data for the first 6 months.

Saudi Arabia’s Mobily already had a similar “prepaid” plan: same 250MB data for the first 6 months. The 8GB model for 2,400SR and 16GB for 2,800SR. Significantly cheaper that the UAE.

I still don’t understand why is this called prepaid while the “postpaid” plan payment is pre-paid! Via Shufflegazine.
