Today, September 10th, Apple announced one million iPhones sold (not shipped) until now.
“One million iPhones in 74 days—it took almost two years to achieve this milestone with iPod,†said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We can’t wait to get this revolutionary product into the hands of even more customers this holiday season.â€
In other news, it seems that UAE’s telecom companies Etisalat and Du are in talks with Apple to release the iPhone in the Emirates.
Du and Etisalat are currently in high stakes negotiations with Apple to become the exclusive supplier of iPhones in the UAE.
And finally, this newspaper (Arabic language) claims that a Saudi hacker managed to “create a new hack”, from the translation, to unlock the iPhone to work in the Saudi Telecom network. The newspaper also mentions that he is working on an Arabic localization to the device. All the best luck to him!
